Salton Sea is an artificial lake, created by an ecological disaster of misdirecting floods from the Colorado river decades ago.

It is in the middle of the hottest and driest of California deserts. Temperatures get extremely high in the summer, but that doesn't mean nobody lives there.

Along the shores, you will find Bombay beach, half abandoned town, half artsy experiment.
